Western Cape, Cape Town – Rene Best

Background:

I live in the beautiful Breede River Valley in the Cape Winelands with my husband Anton & my two children Isabelle (13) and Tian (9). My current work involve working mainly with children (and their parents) on the farms in and around Robertson, Ashton, McGregor, Bonnievale and Montagu. Our NGO b.r.e.a.d. (Breede River Emotional Awareness Development) is our vehicle to reach out to so many needy families where the lack of role models, healthy parenting, basic family structures and compassionate discipline are a huge challenge. It is my passion to empower and develop individuals to their full potential and for them to realise that God created them in a unique way so that they therefore can feel worthy and appreciated!

It is my aim to use the First Steps Evergreen Parenting Courses to reach out to dads and moms who need assistance with basic parenting skills and for them to realise that God gave them authority to look after their precious children and for them to realise that their responsibility as parents is a journey of discipleship and not a once off encounter!
